Here are some Alternate giving ideas for Christmas 2015

Local:

  • Town Square Food Pantry: For Christmas we need 60 hams and cookies to add to the Christmas Baskets. Also, we would like to give each family a small wrapped gift so donations toward that would be very welcomed. Contact Eileen with ideas, items, or to volunteer! Email: giarraffaa@aol.com.

Around the Diocese:

Refugees

  • Vive LaCasa Thank you Newman Community all for your generous donations of winter clothing. Many of your items have already been used by the refugees. Thank you again on behalf of the present and future refugees at Vive. Any questions, please call Tom Lynch at 836-5496.

Support of  Third World Nations

  • The Ministry in Nicaragua As has been our custom for many years, this provides a wonderful way to support a needy family while giving Christmas gifts to your family and friends. For a $100 donation, you can give a cow to a needy family. The cow’s first calf will be given to another family. The cow will provide milk, cheese, and calves for 7 years. For $50, you can give a pig which provides 6 -12 piglets a year. Also, you can send a child to school ($30 for elementary, $50 for secondary, $100 for college.). Gift cards are provided for your recipient. Call Joe Testa at 688-8357 for info. Make checks payable to Nicaraguan Mission (tax deductible charity) and mail to: 100 Sundown Trail Williamsville 14221
  • El Buen Amigo Fair Trade Store The bridge from your home to the rich cultures of Central and South America. Santiago will bring handmade items here to sell the first two weekends in December. http://elbuenamigo.org/   716-885-6343.
