The Newman Center entered into an agreement with Solar Liberty in November of 2013. The work was recently completed and is now fully functional. We are able to generate about 25KW daily from the 116 solar panels located on the community room roof plus 3 Inverters on the side or our building.
Adding this solar system will reduce our electric bill about 25%-40% depending on our need during the year.
The project was funded by state, federal and other grants available to nonprofits. Solar power cuts energy cost immediately and protects us from rate increases for the next 15 years. The Buffalo Diocese and Solar Liberty helped the Newman Center make this project a reality leading toward the future for energy independence.
